Well, Dolpo is already fairly off the beaten track compared to the main Nepal trekking regions, so this is a good choice. I’d recommend spending 2 to 3 nights in the Bardia region. It offers a rich cultural encounter with the indigenous community of the region and the chance to enjoy wildlife safaris. Bardia can be conveniently combined with Dolpo, as it's located approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Nepalgunj. You’ll already be flying into Nepalgunj from Kathmandu to catch the early morning flight to Juphal, the gateway to Dolpo, so adding Bardia to your itinerary is quite feasible.
It's also possible to arrange a stay in Buddhist monasteries. These experiences offer close interaction with resident monks and insightful discourses on Buddhist philosophy and spirituality, often led by senior-ranking monks.
In terms of Dolpo trekking routes, Phoksundo Lake is easy to moderate difficulty and is highly recommended.
